This image is created from sections of linocuts I have made and of the "Theatrum Orbis Terrarum" map by Abraham Ortelius, the first map to including every continent of the world and first drawn in Antwerp in 1570. A section of this map has been enlarged and overlaid onto my own linocuts to create an abstracted composition, drawing a connection between world knowledge and the landscape inspired folklore that my original linocut illustrated.
